Anne and Suze Arrive in Chicago

Air Canada United Airlines I left Saturday morning for O'Hare airport armed with the information that Suze and Anne had emailed me about their flights. I found the Air Canada desk and looked for Suze's flight arrival time. I didn't even see her flight there. I asked a skycap about it. He looked at the flight number and said that it was a United Flight, even though it was Air Canada, and it was in the next terminal. So I walked over to terminal 1. Then I looked at the flight arrivals and I didn't see her flight number, although I did see a flight from her city at the time she said she would be arriving. I figured that must be it, but I wanted to be sure so I asked a woman who was helping people in the ticket line. She confirmed that it was the correct flight.

I went downstairs to the baggage claim area and armed with this month's Diabetes Forecast, I sat and waited for Suze's plane to arrive and the people to come to baggage claim. I suspect this is true for most airports - at O'Hare you can't meet people at the gate anymore - you have to be a ticketed passenger to get past security.

Anyway, I happened to glance up and here comes Suze :-) We got to exchange the hugs we usually have to do virtually, then we waited for her suitcase.

Next, we caught the tram over to terminal 3 - Anne's terminal. We went to look for her flight and couldn't find it. As it turned out, she left off the first digit, but we saw a flight from her area of the country (with 4 airports to choose from!) that was coming in at the time she said (1:30ish - her exact words LOL)

We went directly to the baggage claim because it said her 1:20 flight would be arriving at 1:06 and it was already 1:00. We got to the carousel that was listed as the carousel that her flight's baggage would be on and Suze went to the Ladies' room. Just as she left, I spotted Anne (or maybe Anne spotted me). So we greeted each other and waited for Suze who finally arrived and told us that the carousel for Anne's flight was different than the one that was posted.
