February is National Children's Dental Health Month
This Month's Health Tip:
Exercise to stay smart
A six-year-plus comparison by researchers at the University of California, San Francisco, of over-65 female walkers and their sedentary counterparts found that the more women walked, the less likely they were to decline cognitively over time.

Crowtalker's Talk
Crowtalker is one of Healthy Living's most interesting members. There is truth that wisdom comes with age. She is also one of the most inspirational, encouraging and uplifting members of Healthy Living. Journey into her journal and see for yourself.
Here is an excerpt:
-
I don't want to become "a little old lady sitting alone in her apartment all day watching soaps and sleeping the rest of the time."
To that end, I have decided to add a little bit of strength training to the other healty habits that I have listed before. For a while I just plan to spend a few minutes learning each movement. Baby Steps. Baby Steps. Baby Steps. I am using very light weights. I tried a little this morning and surprisingly the place that I feel it the most is the muscles in my legs. . .
. . .The encouragement I get here is such a big help. Thank-you, all!

Keely and Elaine's Mountain Trail
Lose yourself in the mountain trails on horseback or trials on foot with exercising as you read the journal of two of Healthy Living's most prolific writers.
Elaine:
"I didn't do any cardio last night, but egged on by you, I did get my second new step tape out this morning: Crunch Fat Blaster. I think I will like this one, though it is too intense for me right now. I did my own steps to reduce the intensity and keep my perceived exertion in the somewhat hard range."
Keely:
"I'm glad I influenced you to do your crunch fat blaster and that is excellent that you adapted it to suit your level. I know what you mean about being clutzy. I used to go to Jazzercise many years ago and I was always out of step. LOL But it was fun. The main thing is to have fun while you are doing something."
